R4DS - A Nintendo DS Dream Or Nightmare

Nintendo DS systems is one of the most successful systems, handheld games in history. Unfortunately all you can do with it is play. Well, that's what I bought it for right? But would not it be great if you could use your DS as a portable media center media? It would be nice to listen to MP3s, watch videos and view your holiday photos on it?

Guess what. You can. All you need is a little device called the R4DS (or R4 Revolution if you prefer). The R4 is just a revolution for DS as it happens. It can be an essential element for any DS owner to enhance their experience, or it can activate the dream of a pirate software.

R4DS owners advised not to take advantage of this and Nintendo are fighting to stop selling the product. The long-term effects of piracy is an industry less and less playing games and games of a lower quality.

Ironically, the threat of piracy also threatens the R4DS itself. There are many online stores selling imitations of the R4 Revolution. There are many Internet forum reports of people plugging in their brand new R4DS to find that they can never turn their new DS. But after closer inspection, they realize it is not a real R4DS but a very similar clone.

It seems that the R4DS give a large portion of Nintendo DS owners a new and exciting way to use their portable gaming device. It also looks like Nintendo has a fight to stop the sale of the R4DS which will undoubtedly lead to increased piracy. The situation seems to be the most fair of Nintendo to close pirate websites and allow the ethical use of the R4DS to continue.
